Education:

  1. Ph.D. Candidate Chemical Engineering – Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts – Projected Degree Conferral: May, 2016
  2. B.S. Chemical Engineering - National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan - June, 2011

Research summary:

The objective of my research is to develop a general design concept for polymorph control of continuous pharmaceutical crystallization. The primary challenge of the study is the intrinsically stochastic behavior of nucleation and the limitation imposed by Ostwald’s rule. The final product of the crystallization process can be either a stable polymorph or an unstable polymorph. Seeded and unseeded MSMPR/Tubular Reactor will be investigated. Special interest is on polymorphs with enantiotropic relationship.

Keywords:

Polymorph control, monotropy/enantiotropy, seeding technique, continuous crystallization
